Following the signing into law of the Freedom of Information Act on May 24, 2011, The Orderly Society Trust in collaboration with the Oshodi/Isolo Local Government in Lagos organised a 1- day capacity building workshop for the Information Officers of the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.

The essence of the workshop was to enlighten the information officers on the salient provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. The workshop was aimed at building the capacity of the officers to provide timely information required by Community Based Organisations to effectively carry out their civic responsibilities, which include monitoring the activities of local government activities as it concerns service delivery.
